The Tudor Ranger Lineup Expands

Tudor expands its Ranger line with new models that reinforce the watch’s identity as a practical expedition tool. Originally linked to the British North Greenland Expedition in the 1950s, the Ranger now arrives in a new sand toned “Dune white” dial and a more compact 36 millimetre case alongside the existing 39 millimetre size. The design centres on simplicity and reliability, echoing the spirit of adventure in remote environments such as the Dakar Rally’s Empty Quarter.
The case is fully satin brushed in 316L steel to maintain a matt, utilitarian finish, complemented by only minor polished accents. The domed dial in either grained matt black or Dune white carries painted hour markers and the signature Ranger hands with Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova. The tip of the seconds hand remains in burgundy, a subtle Tudor hallmark.

Both sizes are powered by Tudor’s Manufacture Calibres MT5400 or MT5402, each certified by COSC and built for durability with a variable inertia balance and silicon balance spring. The power reserve is approximately seventy hours, making it suitable for stopping over a weekend without winding. Performance exceeds standard chronometer requirements at a variation of minus two to plus four seconds per day.
Wearability is enhanced through either a fully brushed steel bracelet equipped with the T-fit rapid adjustment clasp or a single piece tri-colour fabric strap woven on traditional Jacquard looms in France. Waterproof to 100 metres, the watch is designed for real world testing rather than aesthetic indulgence, staying true to Tudor’s tool watch legacy.
Continuing the philosophy introduced by Hans Wilsdorf, the Ranger upholds the brand’s commitment to robustness, precision and affordability. It reflects Tudor’s “Born To Dare” ethos, a spirit shared with explorers who rely on their watches in unforgiving terrain. A transferable five year guarantee without registration or maintenance requirements further strengthens the Ranger’s position as a dependable companion for any journey. And the new models (as well as the current ones) should be available at your nearest Tudor boutique already.
